Introducing…
We were looking everywhere for more dairy cows to add to our milking herd. Nothing was turning up even when we started looking in Arkansas, Missouri, and Texas. Either the cows were sold already, too expensive, or wouldn’t have fit our herd.
About two weeks ago, we were in a business and one of the employees commented on Tim’s shirt. They got talking and Tim mentioned that we were looking for more cows. “Oh, you need to talk to my brother-in-law. He is reducing his herd of milk cows. In fact, he is milking right now and you should just go down there and talk to him.”
We headed out with a name and address on a piece of paper.
Fast forward to Monday. We made the trip back to Yoder with a trailer in tow. Fran and Bars were waiting in the corral.
Fran is super curious and comes to say hello even in a new spot. Her calf is due the beginning of December. I love the white on her face!
Bars is more reserved and not as fast to come say hi. She is due to have her calf any day. We can’t wait to welcome a baby into the herd! Bars will be joining the milking crew to make more delicious and wholesome milk for you :)
Waffles came to us from our chiropractor in Salina. Not every day you go to be adjusted and get offered a cow :) We took him up on the offer and he dropped her off Wednesday evening.
She has the softest brown eyes and such a cute face! We will be breeding her soon so that she will have her calf in the Spring.
As our new “girls” settle in, it is going to be so much fun to see their different personalities come out and learn their likes and dislikes.
